Leaving Lahore

We thought we were ready with the car but unfortunately we were not. Fortunately Mister Daniels reminded us that the wheels needed to be balanced. So at nine in the morning Mister Daniels and I drove to a garage where they could do the job. There I found out that they also did plate work and within minutes two men were working on the damage from the bad roads in India. An hour and a half later i returned at the SOS village where I met Elles who had great news! Literally news!

5 newspapers had printed articles about our trip and most of them printed them on Page 2!! We got wide coverage all over Pakistan and this might benefit SOS a lot as all articles requested people to donate money to SOS. This comes at a perfect timing as Pakistan is approaching the month of Ramadan, the time that Muslims have their fasting period and are asked to make donations! We hope for the best!

Then it was time to leave. A sad moment as we started to feel like a part of the SOS Family. We said goodbye to everyone, visited some of the houses and of course the headquarters who had been extremely helpful during our visit!

We wished them all the best and then headed of towards Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. The highway was perfect. Even more interesting was the fact that every few kilometres, policemen were guarding the road. We guessed this was to make sure locals with cattle would not use the road to their convenience. So we had a perfect and easy ride all the way to Islamabad.
